How does our pricing work?
At Muziplay, each teacher sets their own hourly rate. You pay the rate displayed by your teacher, with no hidden fees or additional commission. Rates vary depending on the teacher's experience, the instrument taught and the musical style.
Full transparency: The price displayed is the price you pay. Prices include VAT where applicable. No additional fees will be charged.

Ideal for beginners or targeted improvement sessions
Example: If the hourly rate is £40/h, a 30-minute lesson will cost £20
45 minutes
Recommended duration for most lessons
Example: If the hourly rate is £40/h, a 45-minute lesson will cost £30
60 minutes
Perfect for intensive, in-depth lessons
Example: If the hourly rate is £40/h, a 60-minute lesson will cost £40

How to calculate the price of a lesson?
Simple formula:
Price = (Hourly rate × Duration in minutes) ÷ 60
Worked example:
- Teacher's hourly rate: £40/h
- Chosen lesson duration: 45 minutes
- Calculation: (£40 × 45) ÷ 60 = £30
💎 Discounts and promotions
Personal discount
Your teacher can offer you a personalised discount. This discount applies only to you and may be limited to a specific duration or valid for the entire lesson.
Example:
- • 20% discount on the first 30 minutes
- • Hourly rate: £40/h
- • For a 45-minute lesson:
- - 30 min with discount: (£40 × 0.80 × 30) ÷ 60 = £16
- - 15 min at standard rate: (£40 × 15) ÷ 60 = £10
- Total: £26 instead of £30
General discount
Some teachers offer general discounts available to all their students. These promotions can be temporary or permanent.
Example:
- • 15% discount on the full lesson duration
- • Hourly rate: £50/h
- • For a 60-minute lesson:
- - Standard price: £50
- - With 15% discount: £50 × 0.85 = £42.50
How do I know if I have a discount?
When booking a lesson, the system automatically calculates the best applicable discount and displays it clearly. You will see the original price crossed out and the reduced price highlighted. Discounts are applied automatically — no action required on your part!
⚠️ Cancellation policy
Cancellation less than 24 hours before the lesson
If you cancel a lesson less than 24 hours before the scheduled time, a cancellation penalty may apply. The penalty percentage is set by each teacher and is communicated to you at the time of booking.
Example:
- • Lesson price: £30
- • Cancellation penalty: 50%
- • Penalty amount: £30 × 50% = £15
Cancellation more than 24 hours before the lesson
If you cancel your lesson more than 24 hours in advance, no penalty will apply. You will be able to book a new slot at no additional cost.

Payment is taken when you book the lesson. Once payment is confirmed, your slot is reserved and confirmed.

Do the prices include hidden fees?
No, absolutely not. The price displayed by your teacher is the price you pay. No additional fees, commission or service charges will be applied.
Can I negotiate the rate with my teacher?
Rates are set freely by each teacher. If you would like to discuss a particular rate, you can contact your teacher directly via the platform's messaging system.
Can discounts be combined?
No, the system automatically applies the best available discount. If you have multiple applicable discounts, only the most advantageous one will be used.
What happens if my teacher changes their rate?
The rate you pay is the one that was in effect at the time of your booking. Rate changes do not affect lessons already booked and paid for.
Can I get a refund?
If you cancel more than 24 hours before the lesson, you will receive a full refund. For last-minute cancellations, the penalty policy applies. If you experience any issues, please contact our customer service team.
